Sour Cream and Cheddar Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp cold unsalted butter, cut into bits
  • 1/4 lb sharp cheddar cheese coarsely grated
  • 2 Tbsp drained and chopped pickled jalapeno peppers
  • 1 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl. Cut the butter into the flour mixture with a pastry cutter until well combined. Stir in the cheddar cheese, jalapenos and sour cream until it forms a sticky dough. Clean and flour your counter top. Pat the dough out to a 1/2 inch thickness and use a biscuit cutter to cut out rounds. Bake on an ungreased baking sheet for 15-17 minutes.
  2. You can make these ahead of time and then bake them off when you are ready to eat.
