Woohoo! It’s Friday night! Time for a big night out on the town! Ha, just kidding. I’m in my pajamas, pouring a glass of wine and digging into a big bowl of this pasta while watching Netflix. Dress this up for a party or eat it in your pajamas- either way, it’s a winner.
Pasta with Sausage and Peppers
Ingredients
- 1 Lb linguine
- 1 red pepper sliced thin
- 1 onion sliced thin
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb sweet Italian sausage casing removed
- 1 28oz can chopped tomatoes
- 1/4 cup red wine
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/4 tsp sugar
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- fresh basil for garnish
Instructions

In a large pan, saute onion, garlic and red pepper in oil. Stir until the vegetables begin to brown.

Add meat and brown.

Add the tomatoes, wine, oregano, dried basil and sugar. Boil gently.

Boil the pasta according to the directions. Drain.

To the tomato mixture, add the cream and salt and pepper. Simmer for 3 minutes.

Mix the pasta into the tomato mixture and garnish with fresh basil.
